I would
strongly urge you to work through this course section by section. Only
move on when you feel confident to do so. Wait until you have mastered, or
at least for comfortable, with what is being asked of you. You may be
tempted to rush ahead before you are ready to do so, but the only person you are
fooling is yourself. No you will not come to harm if you move on to
quickly. No demons are going to leap out of the computer screen at you.
If there is any danger in the pursuit of magick, then it will only be because the person carrying out the magick lacks a precise knowledge of what it is that she or he is doing. It is upon an intelligent understanding of the meaning of the occult symbols and the realties that they are intended to convey, that the success of the rites largely depend. But intellectual familiarity with these principles is of little use if there is no spiritual experience.
By all means, feel free to read through the whole course before you begin - this is not a piece of fiction where knowing the ending will spoil the read. This is a journey of the soul that you are embarking on. Getting to the destination is something you will only do by working at your own pace.
It is important that you keep some sort of magickal journal/diary/Book of Shadows, call it what you will. You can use this to record anything you read that feels important to you. You should also use it to record the results of any exercises that carry out - in this way you will be able to see your own progress as you work through the course.
It is also important that spend at least fifteen minutes every day sitting quite and still and musing over aspects of your own personality, life and ambitions. What has this do with magick? Well, simply that this is a path of spiritual growth, not an episode of your favourite witch TV show.
If I were acting as you guide or teacher, then we would discuss each section of the course before you started it and then would review each section after you had completed it. If we both agreed that you have achieved the aims of that part of the course, then you would move on to the next section. Of course, we cannot do that with this course, as all of the lessons are hear waiting for you to delve in to.
If you want to set yourself a goal, then I would say aim to complete each section in a month. But you will find some sections will take longer than this, so please do not panic if six months down the line you find yourself not having moved on at all.
