by Magi What it that so many people really seem to be searching for today? What have they lost and what do they hope to find? If they would look within and put into practice the writings of the many great teachers that have lived and are still living today, perhaps they might find the answers. Perhaps the accumulation of too much knowledge stifles that which is trying to get out. Are we like the child who becomes frustrated because he is forced to learn at school and cannot keep up with the pace. Or perhaps we are the child who is at the top of the class and is equally frustrated because he is being held back. Could the answer really be very simple? Each of us must learn what we came on this earth to learn and we can only do that at our own pace. Accumulation of knowledge is a wonderful thing but what use is it if that knowledge is not put to good use? It is like the seed that falls to the ground and is barren of life and cannot grow. What use is it for someone to try so hard to be good and walk the right pathways if they do not know where they are going? They can seemingly be the most wonderfully spiritual person but if what they do is for their own gain or spirituality and is of no benefit to others then they are like the desert flower that blooms and looks wondrous but is surrounded by barren land. How better that we should try to serve the Gods by serving others without selfish motive and without looking for rewards in this life or the next. How hard it is to serve and to keep the ego under control. We should not shout from the rooftops the service that we are trying to do and neither should we confide in a closest friend. Let our actions speak our words for us. The spark that dwells within us knows what we are doing and why so let us be true to ourselves and that spark. Let us quietly ask for guidance so that we may walk through life on the correct pathway and let us not try read the signposts on the way. Let us simply ask the Gods for directions if we feel that we are lost. Then perhaps we will find what we are looking for and realise that it has always been with us and that we never lost it in the first place. |
