© Joyce Valenzano To offer a bit of what I see as 'proof' or validity that there is something to this theory called astrology I say this: No one will argue the fact that the Moon is responsible for moving the tides of the oceans, this is a proven. scientific fact. That taken, we can reason that since the saline content of fluids in the human body match that of the saline content of the ocean, it is reasonable to state that Moon then has a direct influence on humans. The Moon, presiding over the emotions (oceans) of human beings, exerts a specific power or influnece in our day-to-day lives. As such, it is not a huge leap to state that Mars influences our reactions to things; Venus, the manner in which we give and receive love and so on for the other planets. Each planet acts as an archetype, they carry/offer specific influences/behaviors in our lives. Carl Jung defined the idea of archetypes that live within us, similar to Plato's realm of ideas (IMHO anyway) and these ideas/archetypes are something that we all have in common; i.e. the mother=the Moon, the father=Saturn. The planets work together in harmony, crafting the symphony of experience we call life. As to why some seem to reflect the energy of their signs, I offer this: We come into life with a plan, something we hope to achieve. Our course is pre-determined, yet, we have the option of Free Will and are therefore free to say "No" to following that plan. The folks who seem to reflect the energy of their sign are the ones who, usually around age 36, have shucked the false image of ego and have begun to embrace the nature of their inner essence. This is why babies and little kids are so free, for we are born with that inner essence right there, but society adds layer up layer of crap so that the light of self is buried beneath a false facade. |
