When working magick effectively, we open up our psychic centres (chakras) and it is important to understand what these are and how to ground and centre afterwards so that we are able to leave sacred space and carry on our lives without any after effects. The chakra system is widely found in Eastern religions. To some, the use of this may seem alien but to borrow from the East is not a new development in the Western Magick. This may be due to the ancient mystery schools of the Mediterranean and Near East, which were a meeting point between East and West. The energy centres of the body, the chakras, are used in magick (either knowingly or unknowingly). And there are seven major chakras. the first, the muladhara chakra is at the base of the spine, the second is the sacrum at the level of the pelvis the third is the manipura also associated with the solar plexus and spleen the fourth is at the centre of the breast bone and known as the heart chakra the fifth is the throat chakra, the visuddi the sixth is the third eye or anja chakra in the centre of the forehead the seventh is the sahasara chakra, the crown on the top of the head
Clairvoyantly, the chakras are seen as pulsating or spinning colours of light which follow the colours of the spectrum. The chakra at the base of the spine is seen as a pulsating circle of red light, the sacral is orange, the solar plexus is yellow, the heart is emerald green, the throat bright blue, the third eye violet and the crown white light. There are various ways of opening the chakras and using them to draw energy into the body and so use it as a way of power raising for magick. I won't go into this now, but maybe later. However, it is very important to ensure that the chakras are closed after working magick. Eating will do this very effectively - so any feasting at the end of or after ritual will earth the energies which have been raised. Even so, it is still worth carrying out a simple exercise to make sure this has happened. The chakra at the base of the spine draws etheric energy and the crown draws down spiritual energy into the body from outside - the energy of Earth and the energy of Spirit - and those chakras should not be closed. The central chakras, however, transmit and receive energies to and from those around us and since we do not know what kinds of negativity those we meet casually may be carrying, it is important that these are properly closed down. Closing the chakras can be done very quickly and easily. One way of doing this is to imagine each of the chakras as a flower in full bloom with petals of the appropriate colour. Starting at the top, the crown chakra, draw a fountain of white light down the outside of your whole body so that it completely covers the third eye. Then see the petals of the flower at the third eye slowly close until they are closed tight and the flower looks like it is a bud. No colour is visible from the bud. Then draw more white light down from the crown, past the third eye to the throat and see that flower tightly close. Continue until you have closed all the chakras (apart from the one at the base of the spine). As a final precaution, imagine yourself putting on a cloak, your personal cloak of protection. Simply put, Chakras are points of greater energy in your Aura. The aura is the field of energy that permeates the body and extends out from it from two to five feet in most people some common names for the aura layers from the inner most dense to the outer finer or higher vibration layer are: [1] etheric [2] emotional [3] mental [4] causal [5] etheric template [6] intuitive [7] cosmic. These names are by no means complete or definitive and several of the individual layers and the whole system is /are often called the astral body. Each layer is related to the chakra of the same number. From the inside outward from the body or nearest the physical skin though all layers also penetrate the body. 1. Etheric: lower astral, root chakra, a bluish or greyish layer that extends an inch or two out from the body most associated with the physical body is the easiest to see. Some people are able to see the etheric outlines of the internal organs . Some people see a light blue on dark blue grid. Survival issues, the physical body function and physical sensation of pain, pleasure, automatic functions etc. 2 Emotional: Sacral Chakra, the emotional aspects of our lives and being. soft multi coloured clouds of light visible from one to six inches out this is the layer most often described by aura readers it will show dark spots or cloudy area and stagnant areas where emotional blocks and pain exist . 3. Mental: golden grid ,Solar Plexus Chakra, the mental body reflects the thought processes ,linear thinking. Personal power. These three bodies are the lower astral and together are said to make up the personality. These are said to begin to be created at conception and dissolve at death. 4. Causal: Higher Astral, buddic ,Heart chakra multi coloured clouds ,associated with the heart and love . this connects the lower three level with the higher three virtually all healing energy comes through this layer it is the layer of love both specific and universal, and the first of the spiritual layers. 5. Atmic: (Etheric template) bliss, throat chakra, the higher aspects of the will more connection with the divine will, speech and communication, listening, taking responsibility for ones own actions seen by some as a blue grid light ball around the body extending about 2 and a half feet out from the body. it has been very rare for people to be really aware of this layer but when balanced and active it can promote a bliss and a feeling of being moved by the divine. It is becoming more open in people at this time. power of word, manifesting. 6. Intuitive: (monadic) ketheric template, Brow chakra, multicoloured threads of light, spiritual communication Divine Love nurturing awareness of oneself as an aspect of what is called, By some, God, Love of all life and union with the all. 7.
